What is Diclofenac 2% & Menthol, Linseed Oil, Methyl Salicylate Gel?

Diclofenac 2% & Menthol, Linseed Oil, Methyl Salicylate Gel is a topical analgesic (pain reliever) used to treat acute musculoskeletal discomfort and joint pain associated with osteoarthritis. It relieves pain, edema, and stiffness in the joint, allowing you to move and bend it more freely.

How it Works

Diclofenac and Methyl salicylate (pain relievers), Linseed oil (anti-inflammatory), and Menthol are all found in it. It work by cooling and then warming the skin, obstructing the passage of pain signals through neurons. This medication act together to prevent the flow of chemical signals that leads to pain, inflammation, and edema. Only take it if your doctor recommends it.

How to Use

It is only for topical application on the skin. With a strip of clean cotton ball or gauze swab, apply it to the affected region.
Wash your hands with soap and water before using it and then gently work the gel into your skin (affected area).
If the affected region is your hand, let it dry for at least 60 minutes before washing it. After applying the product, wait at least 60 minutes before showering.
It is not recommended to use this medication to expose wounds or inﬂammatory dressings to the treated joints.
Avoid contact with the eyes and nasal passages when using it. Keep the treated joint(s) out of direct sunlight.
After applying it, wait at least 10 minutes before putting on any garments or gloves.

Precautions

Inform your doctor if you have an allergy with it or any other pain relievers (such as ibuprofen, naproxen, or celecoxib) or if you have any other allergies before using it.
People with asthma, liver problems, kidney disease, stomach problems (bleeding, ulcers), heart problem and anaemia should not use it.
The elderly should be cautious when using this medicine since they have a higher risk of kidney problems and gastrointestinal bleeding.
It should be avoided by children with viral flu, chickenpox, or viral fever (swelling in the liver and brain).

Side Effects

The majority of adverse effects do not require medical treatment and go away with time. However, if the negative effects do not go away, talk to your doctor.
Skin irritation, contact dermatitis, rashes, itching, redness and swelling, and burning or stinging sensations are the most typical side effects of it.
